Ronald Romm is among the greatest brass players of the 20th and 21st centuries. Having performed a stunning 10,000 concerts and hundreds of recordings over a 60-year career, and over twenty years teaching at a major university, Ronnie has inspired even more people with his virtuosity, warmth, and genuine quality of his sound and presence.
We are proud to begin our journey as the Romm Trumpet Academy, and invite you to join us with our virtual courses.

Q: What do you mean by Video Course? Are these live lessons?
A: These are recorded videos of Ronnie walking you through his own routine. While live lessons are ideal, the best part of this is that you can come back to these videos any time; if you miss something, you can rewind. If you want to repeat the walkthrough daily (we recommend this!), you certainly can. Each time you revisit, you have an opportunity to learn something new.
Q: Is there an expiration date for this course?
A: Once you enroll, you get Lifetime Access! We don’t purchase an Arban’s or Schlossberg book thinking that we’d have to give it back after eight weeks, so why should you? The best part of a fundamentals course is that we never stop improving, and we want you to have access to this process for as long as you are able to play the trumpet.
Q: This sounds great, when does the course start?
A: Because this is a video course, it starts whenever YOU want to start, whether that’s enrollment day, or a few days afterward. The only way to miss the start is if you don’t enroll!
Q: I am having trouble with specific things, can I ask for help?
A: Of course! Included in your enrollment is access to the Romm Trumpet Academy private Facebook group, where you can reach out to fellow students, or even faculty (Ronnie and Aaron). This is your “Mastermind Group” where you can continue to improve, even past the end of the 8 week course!
Q: I’m already quite advanced, can I skip to the end?
A: Because we want everyone to get the full benefit of this course, everyone starts at the beginning, and a new routine & walkthrough becomes available every 7 days. We recommend taking your time through this course (there’s no expiration date!). Record yourself performing the exercises and being very “picky” as to your progress, and you can certainly take more than 7 days per week if you wish. As most of the long tone and slurring exercises are based on the harmonic series of each valve combination, one can always extend to the next higher partial for an added workout. But remember, we are emphasizing focus and listening just as much, if not more than just the muscular workout of fundamentals practice!
